Our Mission:
Deliver innovative coating and exceptional services that our customers trust.
Our Vision:
Be the global innovator and expert in Wurster coating technology.
Coating Place, Inc. has been in the contract manufacturing industry for over 45 years. Our continued goal to provide the highest quality Wurster processing possible has kept us at the forefront of the “fluid bed microencapsulation” market. Our company mission & vision helps us to maintain this focus.
Coating Place was founded by an ambitious scientist, Harlan Hall, who wanted to better the pharmaceutical industry with the use of the Wurster fluid bed coating technology. The company was then expanded through the addition of brothers Tim, Tom, and Terry Breunig’s engineering, material science, and business development knowledge. Our company was built on the education and experiences these men brought with them. It is our mission & vision to continue urging the next generation into these fields and further expand the capabilities of the industry through their capabilities.
Dr. Thomas M. Breunig & Coating Place, Inc. Scholarship
Beginning in 2012, Coating Place awarded four graduating seniors at Sauk Prairie High School with a $1,250 scholarship towards their college education in the science or engineering fields. Owners Tim Breunig, Harlan Hall, and Kendall Breunig founded the Coating Place, Inc. Scholarship at their alma mater to support the continued education of the next generation. This scholarship rewards students who showcase a strong work ethic, dedication, and persistence in regards to their education and a drive to further their education. These students are representatives of the future pharmaceutical industry and breakthrough technologies.
The Breunig family and Coating Place lost a valued friend suddenly in 2014. Dr. Thomas M. Breunig dedicated much of his life to education and research as well as to the growth of Coating Place. In 2015, the Sauk Prairie High School scholarship was expanded and renamed to reward five deserving students with $2,000 each to support their future education endeavors. The Dr. Thomas M. Breunig & Coating Place, Inc. scholarship supports the education of the future generations of the health and pharmaceutical industry through young engineers, chemists, biologists, nurses, and doctors.
Coating Place is also the proud donor of the Dale E. Wurster Scholarship at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Pharmacy, founded by Harlan Hall. This scholarship is awarded to one Pharm.D student each year since its creation in 2011. Dr. Wurster and WARF were co-founders of the Wurster coating intellectual property and prototype equipment, later purchased by Harlan Hall to begin Coating Place, Inc.
