Wurster Fluid Bed Coating has been the specialty of Coating Place, Inc. since our founding in 1976. Wurster coating uses a differential air stream to move a bed of material that is coated with a material to create a core/shell structure for a variety of purposes (see Applications). Wurster coating is named for its inventor and developer, the late Dale Wurster Ph.D., and is synonymous with fluid bed coating. Other companies build or use fluid bed coating equipment, but none have the direct link to Dr. Wurster’s work, the linear scalability of Coating Place’s design, or the depth of formulation experience offered by Coating Place.
