Coating Place has the most advanced facility in the industry dedicated to Wurster fluid-bed coating for research & development and contract manufacturing.

Since our founding in 1976, Coating Place has grown to a 185,000 ft² facility containing 12 commercial GMP production suites. Each suite is designed to be an isolated building within the facility. Suites have their own fire walls, air handling and HEPA filtration systems to prevent cross contamination.  Multiple 18”, 32” and 46” coating units are available. These units are linearly scalable and can handle batch sizes ranging from 10 kg to over 800 kg in a single unit.

In addition, the facility features four separate R&D equipment suites capable of processing batches as small as 10 g in a 2” diameter chamber up to 25 kg in a 12” diameter chamber.

Our Quality Control Laboratory is available to perform analytical methods development, full compendial testing, and in-process or finished product testing in support of R&D and contract manufacturing operations.

All of CPI’s coating units are aqueous or organic solvent capable, with the latest technology in emissions control.

Our most recent building expansion includes space for additional processing areas to be completed as demand increases. Coating Place utilizes less than 50% of the property available at our current site. With 52 acres, we have ample room for facility expansion.

Coating Place offers process air humidity control to provide consistent and reproducible processing year around. Refrigerated and controlled ambient storage areas are available to accommodate sensitive raw materials.
